angel

this one was quite a challenge, it was a picture sent to me as a text. i had to draw it up and make it into a back piece for a new client.
the father of a friends boyfriend, (still with me?) has had the image for a little while and finally got round to getting the tattoo done today.
hes got tattoos already but nothing on his back which suited me fine.
the drawing of this was hard work getting the wings to look symetrical but i think i did ok. so this is officially all my own work. although i never freehanded onto skin i did draw the whole thing from the text image i was sent.
the shading was good fun though the guy did bleed quite a lot which made things a little bit difficult, however less than two hours later and weve got a pretty good picture here.
hes already looking for ideas to fill in the gaps on his arms to make complete sleeves and i think he was quite pleased with his new tattoo. the man sat for the whole time with barely even a flinch, hes a legend! well done to us both i think xx

a good hand

i took my Tattoo Source book with me and while i was doing the dragon on his back jo was looking through at the designs. he found an image of a hand of cards a think its called a royal straight though its been a while since i worked in a casino. the image has a scroll of writing that said born to lose, live to win and jo decided at about 5pm he would really like this one too.
so i set about drawing it up and putting the stencil on.
it was quite a fiddly design with lots of different little pictures in one but it was enjoyable.
it was all my own too i didnt need to try and match it to anything as it was far enough away from the other designs to be its own piece.
i think i did an ok job though i fear he may want a couple of bits redone once it has healed as it was getting late and the false light in the kitchen was casting difficult shadows. but i dont mind. it was great to get stuck in to a real picture for a change.
jo had mentionned there are more designs he would like so i will hopefully see them all again soon. the family were really lovely and i would like to thank jo and elaine and their two beautiful children for their hospitality and patience xx look forward to seeing you all again

dragons

the dragons arent mine unfortunately they were drawn and tattooed by another artist. but jo, felt as though something else was needed to make the design complete so we added some swirly bits and some more cherry blossom flowers to what was already there and came up with a similar design to draw the hole thing together.
jo has collected his tattoos from all over the world and it was great to be able to add my work to his collection too. again it was difficult to make it similar enough to match the work already there but i think it works quite well..
this took us to about 4:30pm id been tattooing at this point since midday and was getting grouchy lol but they kept me going with cups of tea and bars of chocolate xx thanks for the rocky bar it was wonderfull.

added flowers

this was the second part of my day, after donna left i travelled to kilwinning to a new family referred to me through a friend of a friend. this one in particular now belongs to elaine. she already had the upright flower design but felt that it finished too abruptly and wanted it taken a little further around her waist to give the design a more complete look.
it took a couple of tries with our little sharpie pens but we finally came to design we were both happy with and i set to work.
it was difficult in one respect trying to make my work match up with the piece she already had but i think we managed it quite successfully.
we also added a couple of swirly bits to the final design which set it off nicely. elain was quite pleased and was off out that night with a brand new tattoo. hope you enjoyed the tribute acts elaine lol xx

celtic stars

this was the start of a very long day, a returning customer donna, wanting the three stars in the celtic colours arrived at my door at 12pm. its on the back of her neck and i think it looks quite cool. many people have commented on her choice of football team but they were all celtic fans so it was all good comments lol
her next one in the planning stages is a grey me to you bear in memory of her brother i think she said.

kabuki

this ine was hard work but good fun, emma had a house full of people who all wanted a little something. three of them were getting their first tattoos and one girl wanted a star in her ear. originally she wanted it coloured in but could only manage the outline in the end. i cant say i enjoyed the experience much either and ear is not a place i would recommend.
emma however wanted a green awareness ribbon for something called kabuki syndrome which is important to her. the japanese characters underneath the picture say kabui and the little flowers were added to make her look less like a poster print and more like a tattoo. she bled quite a lot and it took some working but i think the final result is lovely and emma is happy too.
thanks for having me round again emma see you soon xx

babyshambles

nope its not dejavu lol this is a different person, remember andrew that got the koi?? well this is his latest addition. baby shambles album cover with the name in the bottom scroll changed from pete doherty to f**k forever which is a song off the album.
Down in Albion is apparently another song written about the pub that pete frequents, so it was of course important enough to make it into the tattoo.
he also got oasis written on his lower arm and is coming back later for some oasis lyrics on his arm too. poor guy works nights and hadnt had any sleep whatsoever by the time he got to me, didnt know his ass from his elbow lol hopefully hell be more awake later on lol xx

davids collection

this is a tattoo i did before i went on holiday with the help of my daddy. its an image to represent davids pets, bolt, our dog and nugget, our lizard.
it was the first time i used some big flat needles and i was really suprised at how quick i got the thing done with them. ive used them a few times since and have really enjoyed the speed of the work x

the next one is a little tribute to ellis' most recent phase. the thundercats. david and i both loved the cartoon when we were little and now they have remade the series for cartoon network and ellis is loving it. we had a little trouble getting the red ink into david as it just didnt seem to be taking. looking at it today though it could just have been the bad light i was using lol poor david hahahaha
picture number three is of the stig. david has always been a fan of top gear and has always coveted the stigs job. he is hoping that if he sends a photograph to the show they might let him test drive a vehicle or two on the top gear test track. im quite proud of this one as it was really quick to do and really quite effective.

a busy nights work

this was a first tattoo and i think kellys ma was dead brave.. she initially thought it was going to be really painful but breezed through it as i knew she would. 47 and only just getting round to getting a tattoo lol what a girl.
well done kellys ma xxxx
kellys sister, who i think is called cherie but im not sure, she was just introduced as kellys sister lol got mum and dad too with a slightly different design underneath it was also her first tattoo and she was also really brave. sisters are doin it for themselves xx

this belongs to kellys pal Mariah though i dont know if ive spelt that right. she has gone home with dad on her hand with a little love heart and this on the back of her neck. the picture is crap as usual but it says Arms of the Angels, which are lyrics from a very beautiful song of that name and from the film city of angels.
mariah was really pale so i had a little bit of trouble gettin the black to be black but we got there in the end lol

and last but not least kelly came and got yet another one, a simple but very effective flowers and stars design on the outside of her right leg.
out of all of them she said this one hurt the most but i dont think its deterred her from getting anymore..
so 7 tattoos in three and a half hours , i dont think thats too bad lol im tired now though the concentration is exhausting xxx

names and dates

this first one belongs to yet another customer you may remember from my last post the two girls that came in, well kelly the girl whos name i didnt know, this is her man and Declan is the name of their little boy. he did really well and we got through it really quickly.
kelly came back for her childrens initials and birthdays on her other arm to balance herself out . they are coming back on saturday for some more xx

judgement

this was one of five that i did yesterday, two new customers wanted the names of their kids put on them, donna had her nephew Declan' name put n her arm with his date of birth( i didnt get a picture of that though) and then Declans mum i didnt catch her name, got Declan down her neck, her other kiddies Shelby and Jodi on her hands and then this Only God can Judge Me on her arm. it was initially meant to go across her back but she decided the arm would be better as she doesnt really show her back off very much xx

more links on a chain

this picture isnt all that great but the image is meant to be a rusty chain the top two were someone elses work and the bottom two were mine. it was very difficult to try and match the two new links up to the two older ones but i think i did quite a good job. each link has the name and dates of various revolutionarys from history. the two i did were guy fawkes and che geuvara. its a complicated idea but quite an effective one i think. vince has more names to add to the chain so will be back in a few weeks for them to be added on at the bottom x

a busy evening

these two have been waiting a long time to sit down and get inked. the first is a grim reaper belonging to gordon it was a bit of a nightmare as he reacts badly to green. but if you look closely the reapers cloak has haunted faces in it. the blue was a mixture of three different colours and i think it turned out quite well.

the second one belongs to sharleen who because she loves me so very much she chose tribal grrr i hate tribal. i think its ok though and i needed the practice so im glad in a way xx thanks sharleen x

babyshambles

this was a strange one to do but good fun. davids friend pelle, wanted this from the album cover of Pete Dohertys band. he has met the infamous singer a few times and wanted a tribute in ink.
the bit at the bottom says 'to mary barr' which is the name of his girlfriend, instead of 'by peter doherty'. so pelle killed the two birds with one stone there i think lol.
it was good fun for me as it was on his left side on his ribs. (evil laugh) a notoriously painful patch.
he deserves everything he got lol xx

a new customer

this is emma everyone she wanted something delicate written on her arms. they are lyrics from her favourite song by the goo goo dolls. its not a great picture but the left arm (your right) says live like you mean it... and the right arm (your left) says love till you feel it. i dont really know the song but FYI its on the original transformers film soundtrack.
shes a lovely girl and i would like to thank her for the way she dealt with my emotional outburst a lot of people would have just thrown me out but i really appreciate the kindness she showed.
there are plans for another one so watch this space lol xxx

the bottom one is a new one for simone who came the other day to get a little bit of a touch up and ended up with a whole new tattoo lol.

thanks guys xx

koi joy

another tattoo milestone reached, my first real traditional koi tattoo, andrew came round at twelve and left at about 2 this afternoon and we just got down to work he wanted the fish green like his football team celtic urgh with yellow fins and orange highlights, he also had some cherry blossoms around the fish which you can just about make out on the photo. its not quite finished as he was starting to get a little sore so he needs to come back next week for the fish eye to be coloured and the waves shaded at the back of the fish.
when he booked in yesterday i was so excited about doin this one as ive been waiting for a chance to get really stuck into some traditional tattoo work. hes already planning on carrying the theme up his arm which is great news for me and im sure hell look after this one xx
