koi joy

another tattoo milestone reached, my first real traditional koi tattoo, andrew came round at twelve and left at about 2 this afternoon and we just got down to work he wanted the fish green like his football team celtic urgh with yellow fins and orange highlights, he also had some cherry blossoms around the fish which you can just about make out on the photo. its not quite finished as he was starting to get a little sore so he needs to come back next week for the fish eye to be coloured and the waves shaded at the back of the fish.
when he booked in yesterday i was so excited about doin this one as ive been waiting for a chance to get really stuck into some traditional tattoo work. hes already planning on carrying the theme up his arm which is great news for me and im sure hell look after this one xx

canadian grand prix 2011

this is davids latest addition he recently watched the canadian grand prix and watched jenson buttons struggle to triumph from last place to first, plus there were some really funny bits with the stewards nearly getting run down by cars flying past them while they were clearing debris off the track and in their haste to get out of the way they fell over their own feet, if you didnt see it it is well worth tracking down a copy of it, it is way better than anything youve been framed can come up with. anyway, to mark such a great race being won by a great british driver david got a big button, for jenson obviously with a maple leaf on it for canada. xx

lucy

this was a really nice one to do, neil calls his daughter his little bumble bee so he wanted her name to have little bees on it. we had a little chat and decided that the name could be written winnie the pooh style in the trail of air the bees leave behind them in story books. i really need to get a picture now that its healed as it really does look lovely. xx

spider chrysanthe

dead mouse????

this was one that left us all puzzled, david phoned and asked if i could do a picture of a dead mouse on his back, so when he turned up at the house i was expecting a picture of a little mouse lying on its back with its tongue hanging out but apparently deadmaus is a band from canada and this little psychopathic character is their logo.

it was long hard slog for david and for myself but we managed to get the majority of it coloured in and sorted for him, his skin was raised up quite a lot and towards the end i was struggling to see which bits were red ink and which bits were red sore.
so we called it a day and ive told him to come back when it is healed and we can touch up the bits that need it at a later date rather than make him ill this time.
hes going to send a picture of it to the band and hopefully get back stage passes for the T in the park gig next year xxx

cherries

this was lindas second one of the day, and it was the one i was most nervous about doing, the picture she showed me had water droplets on the cherries and ive never really confronted something like that, but i spent last night studying the picture and thought it really cant be as hard as im making myself worry about, so i took a deep breath and went to work and hey presto. i think its probably one of my favourite tattoos that i have done. and linda is over the moon with it, she has another six picked out already so i imagine youll see more of her in the future xx

tiny feet

linda also had her first tattoo today on her foot, all these crazy scottish girls getting the most painful ones out of the way. this is a lovely tattoo and i really enjoyed doing it. she was so chuffed in fact that she got a second one done today, (check out cherries) and i think will be getting a few more in the future.

big bow

this was an interesting one to do as mary didnt want an outline, so to compromise i outlined it in a light purple and coloured it in the same colour assuming that it will all blend in nicely, only time will tell on that one. i think mary is definately very brave as this is her first tattoo and to get it on her foot just left me gobsmacked, im so not brave enough to do that lol well done mary xx

darrens 21

this was a difficult one to get right as darren was very particular about its size and shape and placement which is good, but hard work at the time lol.
darren was born on the 21 of the month and feels that 21 is his lucky number so he got it in roman numerals to stay lucky forever more ..

the first one

this is a picture of one of the tattoos i did when i first got back i think i told you about it but i dont think i posted a photo. claire is coming back this week for an anchor on her leg as well so im sure she wont mind me posting that one as she has been waiting ages for it xx

three more

i have been busy today natalie and her fiancee came to see me this morning for a few tattoos, natalies first one was a cover up that she has been waiting for since before i went on holiday, so john is now no longer on her wrist she has some light tribal work with a couple of very pretty flowers on it. there are certain bits which dont completely cover the original but not so you would see it as being a cover up.

her second one of the day was her fiancees name on the underside of her arm, Gavin was done in script calligraphy and would have been finished a lot quicker had i started with a three, but thinkin i was being smart i started with a seven thinking because it was so big a seven would get the job done quicker but nope, i still had to go round again with a three.
ill know next time not to try to be so fuckin smart.

gavin had a hard time of it being engaged to someone with such a long name lol he got natalie in old english across his stomach. although it didnt take so long it still looks good and he was really happy with the results.
i didnt take any pictures as i dont have any batteries for my camera and i am so skint i cant even afford to fart let alone waste money on batteries but they have said they will be back so ill post the pictures then xxx

thursday last minute

these were two relatively easy ones on thursday a couple girls were given my number by a previous visitor and the top on says gran and papa, it was her first ever tattoo and she has applied for the army so we had to be careful where we put it so when she is in uniform you dont see it x
this bottom one is an adaptation of a design aimee found on the internet, it was really a lovely design and i really enjoyed doing this one.
the original design was done in shades of black but aimee decided to go with the colour purple and the end result i think is really effective xx

bad lads army

couple of right barmy buggers here, the first piccy is of 'floyd', he recently came in and had hard to handle put on the side of his neck, on this picture you can just see it on the top left,
today he came in for a great saying, 'loved by few, hated by many, respected by all'. he said it was a bit nippy in places but he took it well.

the bottom one was a guy floyd works with called geordie i think he got 'Hell aint a bad place to be' hes got some amount of tattoos already as you can see and most of them in some way or another are memories or memorials.

hes a nice guy and has said he will be back and i look forward to seein them all soon xx

Kyle for simone

this is a tattoo for pauls sister simone, she knew she wanted a flower with a vine and her sons name but she didnt really know how she wanted it to look so we had a snoop through google images and stole a little bit here and a little bit there and came up with this design.
she was a bit nervous at first but settled into it very quickly and it was over in no time.
its a lovely tribute for her son who is only seven months old and a very handsome little boy. i hope he appreciates the pain his mum went through to get it done xx
