glasgow revisited

went up to glasgow to buy a bookcase and came home with no bookcase and two more tattoos under my belt, this one was for an old customer who decided while i was there he could get another one done its not quite finished because we ran out of time but hes booked a party on saturday which will give me the opportunity to shade in the scroll.
i know it looks a mess like i havent cleaned it or ive smudged it but this particular customer is not only the worlds worst fidget but hes a bleeder as well and the red in the scroll is blood not misplaced ink.
this one only took ten minutes and i think it will probably need redone because hes also a picker and i can well imagine half of it will be away by saturday.
this is another old customer if you look back she had logan written on her other wrist and this one is kacey for her daughter who was beginning to think her mum didnt love her as much as her brother. bless her it was so sweet she helped pick the colours and watched the whole time it was getting done.

the two of them only took about twenty minutes to do altogether so i was quite chuffed and the kitchen roll use was minimal so i was quite pleased with that because it really is starting to cost me a fortune. im tempted to take shares in plenty so i get it cheaper.

i also did ryans tattoo again it just need the outline going over again as when he first got it done he was jumpin about all over the place and the needle missed a few times leaving blank spaces here and there.

ickle kirstie finally got wully redone this was a shame as it was really sore for her particularly the w and the y. but i have to admit it does look a lot better now and she is definately more happy with it now.

kirsties next one is gonna be on her tummy floers on one side and butterflies on the other so i should be quite busy over the next couple of months xxxx

the vines just keep on growing

this is the next installment of the vine tattoo, above the initials of the boyfriend, sharleen decided it would be nice to include other people she loved in this tattoo, so above the boyfriend she decided to put her brothers' initials and something that was important to him, so a little less obscure this time but ML are the letters youre seeing. still with the vine and with the added feminine touches of hearts and flowers but with a row of five stars this time too, her brother supports the glasgow rangers as do half the population of scotland ( the other half are stinky celtic fans lol) and they have five stars for winning the the treble (charity cup, league cup and the scottish cup) five times. so the stars kind of represent his love for the team and football in general.

this particular tattoo caused me some amount of stress as we all knew it was going to hurt like hell, its not really clear how close to the back of the knee it is on the photos but it really was close and its quite tender there, sharleen has already advised me never to get a tattoo there ever no matter how pretty it might be, so it took me a little while to get into it because i didnt want to hurt her. though in the end i had a little chat with myself and got stuck in and i think it worked quite well.
i used the colour bar again instead of using the lining needles just to keep it the same as the original piece not because i chickened out.
i only used twenty sheets of kitchen roll which is really good as its the cheap crappy stuff that disintergrates at the slightest touch of water. and in total including placing the transfer and a fifteen minute fag break it took 45mins which might seem like quite a while but like i said it took me a little while to get into it.

her next one is a tribute to her sister which will include wings which im dreading, any advice feel free to leave a comment.
see ya later xxxx

kirstie gets her own back

well finally after all her pain kirstie managed to twist wullys arm in an almost literal sense and he got her name tattooed onto his right arm on the inside. it has to be said he was the best customer ive had yet as even when it hurt the most he didnt dance about like the boys from glasgow and he didnt twitch or wriggle. he sat perfectly still and let me get on with it.
i used an outlining needle for the outline and the colour on this one as it has a few very small corners and i didnt think it would fit the colouring needles in, maybe just me being over cautious but i think on the whole it turned out great.
he had typical scottish skin that raises up like a molehill everytime the needle even so much as looks at it but hopefully once it settles down it still look good and not need re done like his girlfriend always seem to do.
it only took me 50minutes including placing the transfer and hurray i only used fourteen pieces of kitchen roll this time as it was all i had in the house. so i must be getting better?????
no more booked up to now but david is moaning that he wants some more, i just wish he would pick stuff that isnt quite so naff haha hell kill me if he reads that.
see you next time xx

a rose is still a rose

this one was a bit of a worry i definately wasnt looking forward to it but it turned out quite well i think. poor kirstie she will be covered in them before she reaches 20, this one is on the back of her arm and is about three inches long and a couple of inches across so quite a big one considering.
the outline was done with 3's dad so dont worry i didnt favour the colour bar this time, the initials are w.g.n which are her grandads initials as it is a tribute to his memory.
i used hundreds of colours to try and give it some life, the leaves were done with green and then with green and yellow mixed on the needles to change the shade. the stem also has the green in it but with brown added on top to make it a little weather worn and realistic looking, (not sure if it worked but it does look ok so thats alright).
the petals of the rose were first done with a pink edge then red on the inside of each one in the hope of giving them some depth (quote unquote dad).
it looks a bit yucky on this photo as it isnt that clear she had just smothered it in savlon. however its quite beautiful and she and i are both very impressed with it.
(just for curiosity sake the "wully" she had done on her back has been reworked and thanks to the constant application of cream this time it looks great, photos will follow when i can pin her down long enough to get one).
also just to not this one took me 50minutes and i only used three quarters of a kitchen roll hahahahahahahahaha

come one come all

isnt it amazing that you sit and do nothing for weeks then one person makes the move to get a tattoo and hundreds of people decide hey thats a great idea ill get one too.

i did these last night, first one was a new customer for me though hes been a friend for a long time he liked the look of the swift david got off my dad and asked if it would be ok to get one on his hand too. no problems really its obviously different because i did it not my dad, it worked quite well and so far hes the best customer ive had, he didnt twitch or jump about or wriggle and the whole thing was done in less than four minutes which i was very chuffed at.

now he knows that im not going to kill him with my needles hes already talking about the next one he wants, however, money plays a big part and hes never got any either so it could be a while before i get another picture of his tattoos.
this one is my best work yet i think it just really seemed to work out. unfortunately my picasa photo thing malfunctionned so yet again you need to lean over to the left for it to be the right way up.
remember the girl who wanted her mans initials in her tattoo but hidden to the untrained eye? well this is it the initials youre looking for are D,J,X and S. when youre looking please remember that the flower is at the bottom of the tattoo ( ill post another photo of it the right way up later on so its not so hard to see)
this was on the girls leg from just below the knee to just above the ankle and im really pleased at how it worked, all done with a colour bar instead of an outline first then the colour it just seemed to be better that way. i even got brave and tried some highlighting on this one with yellow in the green leaves and white on the petals of the flower its hard to see really but i swear im telling the truth.
anyway ive another two booked in for tomorrow night a couple of returning customers looking for the kids names again so ill post them asap.
thanks for reading.

a two tat tattoo

sorry its been soooooooo long since i last wrote but with the credit crunch and peoples innate fear of pain business has been slow.
this was a little job that i made in to a huge one, simple enough design mum and dad the first week and then stars the second week with stardust too.
the first bit was easy as pie took me about two seconds to do but for some reason the stars seemed to create a huge problem for me.
half a kitchen roll and about half a tub of vaseline and i was still trying to get the bloomin thing right.
thankfully kirstie has the patience of a saint and we finished it in the small hours of the morning laughing at my complete lack of speed and efficiency.
oh well she has already planned the reworking of one that has been done previously for next week and another brand new one for near the elbow. so i cant be that bad really can i?

the next job for me is to make yet another order via ebay, my new favourite online tattoo stockists shop. though the bill has dramatically dropped thanks to my daddy and evil stepmother (just kidding bell!!), who sent me a huge parcel box with a stand for my ink pots a massive bag of ink pots and the much anticipated business cards dad designed for me. huge thanks to you both not only form me but from ellis as well who thouroughly enjoyed the bubblewrap included in the package.

hopefully it wont be too long before i get some more customers, someone has asked me to design them a tattoo with their other halfs initials in it, under the proviso that unless the letters are pointed out to you you shouldnt be able to see them. mmmmmmm you either want their name on you or you dont? make your bloomin mind up and stop giving me ludicrous requests that even the most aged tattooists would have trouble fulfilling.

anyway for now at least ill let you get back to your day catch you soon xxxx
