thanks uncle ian

just a little note to say a big thankyou to davids uncle ian, referee extraordinaire, known to his friends as "alfie".
i was bringing in my washing today when my next door but one neighbour jim shouted and said a little bird told him i was doing tattoos. it took a good ten minutes to find out who the gossip was but i got there in the end and to qoute the family who are now shouting ideas for their inks over the drying greens "theres a lot of business coming my way".
i cant say im totally confident in fact im shitting myself as ive never tattooed real grown ups before, everyone has been younger than me. i have a lot of respect for these neighbours in particular so im nervous to say the least but when the time comes ill do my very best and keep you all posted with pictures.
so up to now there are cover ups and re-colours and one guy has offered me his body, purely for practice dont worry, its nothing seedy.
so once again, thanks alfie i love ya xxxxxxx

its been a while

hi again i know it has been such a long time since i wrote last but please dont think ive been sitting idle ive been quite hard at work.

i mentionned in my last blog that there were a few tattoos that i didnt have photos for and unfortunately i never will because we are no longer in communication with the customers in glasgow. we went up a couple of weeks ago to do a tattoo for big billy and david happened to mention to ian that he owed us £25 for a phone we sold him and instead of saying yeah mate i know ill get it to you as soon as poss he thought he would attack david by hitting him in the back of the head.
needless to say big billy didnt get his tattoo for which im very sorry billy, and we left never to want to know them again. i hope the cheeky bastard gets whats coming to him eventually hes got away with far too much for far too long.

anyway the work i have done is all in kind of pieces at the moment as for one reason or another my customers havent been able to sit them out in one go.
my first new customer is a friend of davids called gordon, he had a kind of symbolic love/hate tattoo on his chest. its a rose behind an AK-47 with the leaves and thorns wrapping around the gun. its halfway coloured in but it became emotionally too much for the guy as hes going through a lot of personal shit at the moment and found it very difficult not to let his mind wander.
hes looking forward to getting it finished but unfortnately he bruises like an apple so we are waiting for that to settle down a bit before we go any further.

my second customer is also newly acquired she first had a name put on her wrist and came back for more bless her, she thought it was all gonna feel the same but didnt realise every single one feels diffierent and some places hurt more than others. she had her name on the bottom of her back in simple scrolly writing with a star either side, (*jackie*) but instead of a dot there is a butterfly on top of the I. it will be lovely if she is able to pluck up the courage to get it finished bless her. fingers crossed for jackie everyone lol.

the third one is of course sharleen. she had a kind of tribute done for her children, she already had their names on one shoulder and wanted a couple of koi across the rest of her shoulders to represent her children. i used the same colour palette as the name tattoo which had blues and reds in it. so one fish was done in shades of red and the other in varying shades of blue. it also had some cherry blossom in it too. she will need to come back for a third sitting on this as it has been a thorn in my ass from the start. the outline went great but when i started trying to colour it in she was bleeding so much i couldnt see what i was doing so i had to stop. when she came back a few days later i managed to colour the red fish in but where i had started to colour the blue one it was still too scabby so i left it alone. next time i see her ill get that one coloured in too. though it may take a little longer than expected as the dafty went out in the sun on the wednesday and got it burnt. grrr i do object to this complete lack of interest in tattoo care if youre out in the sun put cream on. its a mantra that all tattooed sun worshippers should repeat dayly throught the sunny months. (though were youre concerned sharleen ill forgive you just this once for you thoughts being elsewhere that day) xx

ive got a couple in the pipeline ive been asked to finish a simpsons tattoo for a friend and also to design a four seasons tattoo for gordons older brother to display the name of his four children, ive got a kind of tree of life idea rtolling round in my brain at the moment so ill keep you posted on that one.
hopefully sometime next week the not finished ones will be done and of course there will be photos to follow folks.
catch you next time xxxxx

no pics

had a bloody busy day on wednesday there actually went to visit friends in glasgow for the afternoon and ended up doing eight tattoos, mostly names as a couple of new customers wanted their childrens names on them and they have two sons and a daughter.
that was good experience as the dad had his youngests name put on the back of his neck.
so a few names and a couple of dates and some little love hearts and i was £140 better off.
the lad wants a big dragon put on his ribs next week which im quite looking forward too apparently its quite a sore area to get a tattoo so it should be quite interesting.
so ive got a few lined up anyway to keep me busy enough. hopefully next time im up in glasgow ill be able to get some pictures of the ones that are missing for you to see xxx

holiday tatts

this is a terrible photo but the tattoo actually turned out ok, its a horseshoe and some vines with mum and dad written in the horse shoe, it was good fun doing it and it was the first time id tattooed a horseshoe on someone so that was an experience they need colour but kate decided it would detract from the words so we left it skin coloured.

this was an older one that needed redone i could see by looking at it that when i first started doing tattoos i did my circles far to big since having a bit of practise the circles have got a lot neater and smaller im sure this time it will be ok.

daryll also got his grandfathers name on his arm, he was gonna get it on his chest but instead he now has just a little black dot because it hurt too much to get the writing done.
im trying to convince him to let me loose on his back as hes only just started collecting tattoos and there is some prime real estate there that i could put something beautiful on but well see next time hes here on his hols.

finished finally

finally the end has come to this epic tattoo, the birds were added to the original bit at the bottom and i have to say im very impressed with myself the colour just seemed to know what it was doing and i had no problems whatsoever with them. apart from the blood this time but she'll live. we re-coloured the rose at the top and the blue in the wings, tried to follow your advice dad and use more colour this time and fair play it looks much better than it did before.

her next one is a beautiful koi design on her side though im not sure when that will be im thinkin maybe she wants to heal first ha ha look forward to seeing you soon sharleen thanks again.

cripes ................!!!!

well yesterday was a busy day, one little visit to friends in glasgow and my tattooing talent took a hammering. i started with a girl called emma who wanted mum and dad written on her arms with some love hearts above each one. easy enough but unfortunately she ran away before i could get a photograph. three hearts above each name and the middle ones coloured in red, it was quite sweet and they turned out really well. next i did a tattoo for marie, she wanted her mans name on her wedding ring finger, funny thing is pat doesnt like tattoos so im sure you can imagine his opinion on the matter. i was a bit worried about doing maries tattoo as well as she takes a lot of medication for her heart and blood thinners, but, strangely enough she was the only one who didnt bleed. the next job was for cheryl who wanted ian written on her ring finger the picture isnt so good really but she was so very pleased with it. ian had her name written on his ring finger too and believe me fitting a six letter name across a finger is a nightmare. (ian also had some old work redone and this time he actually managed to sit perfectly still while i did it for him.) poor ryan wanted another one done too, that boy bless him has no pain threshold what so ever. he wanted mum and dad too but in a kind of old style tattoo with hearts and scrolls and a sword. the one i originally drew up for him was in the end a little to big for him. it was a good job he changed his mind really because he jumped and shouted his way through this one i thought i was gonna have to knock him out just to get the outline finished. however eventually he sat and got it done and got the colour put in as well, and im really quite pleased with the results, i did the sword handle in a deep yellow with a hint of brown to add shadow to the handle, or is it the hilt im not sure. obviously the hearts were red abd ive a feeling they might need to be reworked in a few weeks time but only because he wouldnt let me colour it all at once he first wanted a space of skin left to add a reflection but eventually he changed his mind so no doubt it will look a bit blotchy. we did the right side of the blade in a pale blue for some shadow too but he decided he wanted the scrolls left as skin which suited me fine, after five hours and seven tattoos my legs were starting to cramp slightly.
so all in all it was a good afternoons work and good practice, a new body part too as these were the first fingers i had attempted. im quite pleased with them all and the customers were chuffed too. i think im gonna do some work for david tonight going over his writing on his back and trying to find a way to tie everything in together. maybe extending the tribal design across his back or joining it together with some kind of design im not sure yet. the ones on his back are so mismatched they need something to bring them together. ill let you know what happens with that when i work it out.
he also wants a question cross put on him aswell. mental i hear you say most definately is my reply.
laters !!!
